FFT's Stillwater School



Fly Fishing Traditions is hosting a Stillwater School for the 2012 season. This two day school will be held at private stillwater this summer in June Stay tuned for the location and date and detailed information!


The school is designed for stillwater anglers from beginning to experienced who wish to learn or advance their stillwater skills and techniques. This school is modeled after Philip Rowley’s Stillwater school. The students will learn proper rigging techniques, what rods and reels to utilize, which fly lines to select, which knots to use, how to use quick release indicators, leader formulas, how to select flies, and just generaly the how to's of fishing stillwaters. The school will cover lake profiling, proper boating equipment, safety concerns and last but not least fly fishing etiquette.

Stillwater School Details
  • Cost: $400.00/per student for the 2 day school with fishing opportunities on both days. Price includes BBQ dinner on Saturday Night, two lunches, and plenty of snacks and beverages
  • All schools are taught by one instructor per every two enrolled students. 
  • Outdoor classroom for classwork with Power Point Presentations.
  • Classroom instruction by top Stillwater guides both off and on the water.
  • In depth instruction on stillwater tactics and techniques.
  • Students are responsible to bring their own watercraft, pontoon boat, float tube or pram.
  • Students must possess a valid California fishing license.
